Yahoo trickery?
I have a Yahoo mail account that I only use for mail. I don’t use their social stuff, no other stuff like news or whatever they offer and I don’t even know what all they have and don’t care. Lately I’ve received a few emails from Yahoo claiming that (all of the sudden and out of the blue) people with run off the mill sounding names such as Wayne Ross or Jeffrey Smith are watching my non existing public postings. At first I trashed these emails but I just tried to block the people from following me but surprise, I seem to need to sign up to a Yahoo social site to do so. My guess is it’s an attempt to get me to sign up but even if it’s not, how do these generically named people find a way to follow an account with a made up name on it? I don’t mail out stuff to random people so they might be bots getting the address from a spam list.
I know this is long and not funny(that’s what she said) but now and then I wanna vent.Beltane
